Summer 2017: Must Know Changes in Edgartown Harbor

The Edgartown Harbormaster Department would like to thank our wonderful customers for an incredible 2016 season! This was our first summer exclusively managing our harbor using Dockwa, and as many of you agreed, it went well! We are thrilled to report that Dockwa’s integration has allowed us the ability to increase our operating efficiency and carrying capacity so that we can better serve you, and by extension, our local economy and community members.

Due to the increased interest in mooring at Edgartown Harbor, coupled with our increased ability to accommodate the demand, we have decided to implement the following changes:

  • In order to receive a mooring, all yachtsmen entering Edgartown Harbor must hail us for a mooring assignment on VHF Ch. 74 regardless of their intended length of stay, be it for a few hours or a few nights.

  • From now on our dockage calendar will open before our moorings calendar. This is intended to give those who are unable to secure dockage the opportunity to secure a mooring before those sell out as well. Mark your calendars for the following dates:

    • Dockage: 10:00 AM EST on Wednesday, February 22, 2017

    • Moorings: 08:00 AM EST on Wednesday, March 1, 2017

    • The 2017 season will commence Friday, May 26, 2017 and conclude Sunday, October 15, 2017

  • In order for your reservation requests to be approved, your Dockwa profile must be completed in its entirety. This includes all information fields for your personal details, as well as for your vessel’s. We strongly encourage you to update your profiles and payment details before the opening bell to avoid your desired dates selling out before you’re able to confirm your request.

    • f you do not have a Dockwa account, create one for free by signing up on their website. If you have a smartphone, we recommend you also download their app available on iOS and Android. Once you've created your profile, add your boat information and your payment information so that you're ready to book on opening day.

    • If you already have a Dockwa account and/or the Dockwa app installed, please make sure your account info and app are up to date. Log in before Wednesday morning to avoid any issues. If you've forgotten your password, you can recover it here.

    • Need further assistance? Check out the Dockwa Knowledge Base for some frequently asked questions. If you can't find your answer there, contact Dockwa Support at [email protected]

  • We are no longer accepting cash or checks. All transient moorings and dockage are to be paid for by credit/debit card only.

  • The No-Wake-Zone starts at Nun #8 and ends at the southern buoy in Katama Bay.

  • We have added a Cruising Clubs section to our website, outlining our updated procedure and offer for clubs looking to include Edgartown in their float plan.

We look forward to seeing you in Edgartown!
